Jay Scott

Jay Scott graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture in 1975. Since that time, he completed a wide variety of planning and design projects throughout the southeast, New England and Wisconsin. After meeting Ralph David Abernathy III and helping restore his father’s church, the Historic West Hunter Street Baptist Church in Atlanta. This began his dedication to restoring historic properties related to Civil Rights.

Joan Groover

Joan Groover earned an English degree from Agnes Scott College before completing her MBA at Georgia State University. After building a career in Accounting and excelling as a CFO, Joan transitioned to a role that aligned with her passions. She now dedicates her skills to writing grants, focusing on the restoration of properties with significant ties to the Civil Rights movement. This work marries her professional expertise with her deep commitment to preserving important historical sites and stories.
